Sit in a chair with legs and arms uncrossed, or on the ground cross-legged.
Close your eyes and focus on breathing slowly and gently. Breathe out any negative thoughts and feelings. Visualise yourself surrounded by a beautiful, comforting light. Visualise the light entering the top of your head and spreading to every part of your body – healing and nourishing you as it flows. Stay with this feeling for a few minutes. Become aware of your breathing, and of the surface you are sitting on and the noises around you. When ready, gently open your eyes. Take a few seconds to become grounded before you get up. Meditate. Find a 5 minute meditation on line or simply sit and meditate Call a friend Breathe. Slow, low breathing for a few minutes Play card solitaire Find a pet and stroke it Burn off the energy. Skip, jog on the spot, do star jumps, run on a treadmill Say the alphabet backwards / count in multiples of 13 Listen to relaxing music Sing along to music – loudly if it helps Tidy up.
