Newsletter April 2024 - Reaching Higher Than You Ever Thought Possible

We understand.

We understand that society provides limits for you. These are not always for your benefit, but to some extent they make you feel safe; and having a level of safety is a basic human need. However, there are times when it is useful to challenge whether the limits that society places on you - limits that you absorb into your psyche and live them out – are actually for your own benefit.

Most humans are capable of much, much more than they think they are, and often this only becomes evident when you are placed into a situation beyond the norm where you are called on to step out of your everyday way of living and do something that ordinarily you wouldn't have thought was possible, or that you were capable of.

But this behaviour is possible without extreme circumstances; it was possible when needed, and it's also possible as a matter of course.

How do you do this?

It generally helps to do things in small steps so that you start to believe that what may seem impossible or beyond your capabilities, is indeed possible. Some people can believe this possibility instantly, though for many people that is a step too far.

Start off with a baby step. Choose an area of life that you would like to improve - let's say your health, your finances, your relationship, or your living situation for example. Choose just one.

Imagine yourself on a scale of 0 to 10, where point 0 is “that is not what I want” through to point 10 “that would be wonderful but I don't think it's possible”. Where are you now?

Aim for point 9. Point 10 is possible but we'll aim for point 9, so that when you get there, you are able to take yourself to point 10. Let's say you put yourself at point 4. Now imagine what point 9 is like: What are you doing? What do you have? Who have you become?

Now focus on the ‘who you have become’ aspect, because to move from point 4 to point 9 requires you to become a different version of yourself. It's a version that is completely achievable; it's a version of yourself that you have brought down to earth, it just hasn't been activated yet.

To get from point 4 to point 9 simply requires you to activate the point 9 version of yourself.

Yes, it is that easy, but we understand the human mind may struggle to believe this.
